September’s Book of the Month: Loving Man by Bailey West
Below is Episode 32, and it’s full of spoilers. If you haven’t read Loving Man, skip down to our reviews.
The week of the culinary conference was Xander Northcott’s time to shine. Fresh out of a long-term relationship, he cemented his newly single status by accepting Piper Andrews’s invitation back to her room that first night. It was all fun and games until a few months later, when he received a phone call from the woman he barely knew.
She was pregnant—with his child.
Heralded as a culinary savant, Angel Saint Rose studied alongside the world’s best Chocolatiers. It wasn’t just a job for her. When honing her skills with chocolate confections, she was in her element—until she received a phone call that changed her life.
And killed her passion.
When Xander and Angel’s roads converge, can they call on each other to help find their way back?
Telicia’s Review
I could not put this book down, do not start this book if you have work or something the next day! It was so good. I cried when the characters cried. Papa is my grandfather. BG I need some classes 🤣. Xander is my man 🥰 & Angel’s butt is so perfect 😒 she wouldn’t even care I said that. She’s so confident in their relationship, as she should. I just loved every minute of this book. My only question is, where is part 2? I have to know the details of Pastor & Leona.
Bridgette’s Review
Man, this book was everything! It was innocent and refreshing. Alexander and Angel were perfect for each other. They shared so many of the same desires and wants. The passion they had for the kitchen was so sexy 😍 I can see how the love for food could be intoxicating. I wish I could have been able to hold and kiss Lil Man’s cheeks 🙃. This was a great read, I really enjoyed it.
Renée’s Review
I sooo needed to read this book—the message of removing those around you who don’t support or enhance you really hit home. Not giving up on your dreams and goals spoke to me. I appreciate Bailey West for writing this and the timing in which I received it.
Okay, now to the story. Angel was literally an angel. From the moment she stepped on the scene on the plane and every moment sense. She was classy even when she wanted to pop off. I loved her love for Man and eventually for Xander.
Xander was the catch of all catches, even with his flaws. For a man to see an error in his ways and have enough sense to fix it for those he loves will always impress me. Men don’t always pay attention to what they put out and how it affects the people around them. I loved that he was so patient, understanding, honest, and upstanding. I rooted for him from the moment we met him.
Bailey did a fantastic job incorporating the personalities of Man’s village. There were so many people, but they each brought something to the story. It was sweet but also profound. I saw a lot of myself in many characters. I truly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone.
