Telicia’s Review
This story was deep and I was nervous about the bad guy Derrick winning because a lot of times that really happens. I hated Derrick since the beginning & thought I couldn’t hate anyone as much as him & then I met Manny 😠. I hate Bless childhood it sucked so much & then being with someone like Derrick 😪. I’m so happy she got her happy ending, she deserves it.
Renée’s Review
Whew! That opening was terrifying and also painful to read. But this book was good.
Blessing is a beautiful name, and she lived up to her name in the lives of others. Well, except her ex. It was a blessing that she didn’t just wake up one day and kill him.
I enjoyed how Blessing and Glori made the great escape from a horrific environment and came into the blessing of something made just for them. The struggle was real, but it all came together for this mother-daughter duo.] the new family they found and the genuine love that came with it was so freaking satisfying.
This book had the type of suspense that had me cussing, lol. I was mad when I got stuff right. I was like, “that better not happen” or “ain’t no way,” then it happened and matched my worst predictions. Even though I hoped I was wrong, it was exciting how everything played out.
Brosky quickly claimed Blessing and Glori, and so did his mother, Gloria. It always warms my heart to see someone who was clearly broken get to that happy place where everything is right.
Hell of a Blessing was one hell of a ride. Great story, Mel Dau.
Bridgette’s Review
What I really liked about this story was the opening. I liked how Mel Dau decided to share a part of herself that most hold hostage. If this book could help just one victim, it was all worth it. Sometimes we think no one else can go through the things we did but look at these characters. You are not alone. I was touched by Blessing’s perseverance. Thank you so much,
