This was very hard to finish. I was looking for Christmas and the Caribbean. I really didn’t see too much of either. The O’Reilly was a hot mess, not sure what they had going on.

I had high hopes for the Caribbean feel but didn’t get it. Because this was a Christmas story, I expected it to be quick but not rushed. As a reader, I didn’t get attached to the characters. Nothing made me root for them because everything was told and not shown, if that makes sense. It didn’t grab me, so reading it felt more like a chore than for enjoyment.
