Review: Christmas with the Wrights by Christina C. Jones

Unfortunately, this was my first Christina C. Jones book. I only say that because these characters are a part of a series. Now I know things from this Christmas story that I wish I didn’t.

It won’t completely spoil the stories from the Wright Brothers series. And it most definitely won’t stop me from reading them. However, if you don’t like even the smallest of spoilers, read the series first.

With that out of the way, this was a great short read. Even though I had not met these characters prior to this story, bits and pieces were given to avoid losing the reader. The author did a great job of that.

The characters were just a real as you and me and it drew me in from that aspect. Without saying too much, the story highlights the beauty of black love and family in a way that brings pride to us. The relationships are real with happiness, fear, pain, love, and connection between all the characters.

These were successful, black couples and that alone excited me. Although it was only a short story about the Wrights’ Christmas holiday, it still had its share of difficult times for the characters. The end was sweet and made me want to get to know this family even more.
