Love is no longer a priority as she takes a deep dive into her career as a news reporter with hopes of moving up the ladder. Unfortunately, despite her success, her looks once again prove to be the reason she feels overlooked.

Six time NBA Finals Champion, Deon “Ace” Farrington, is faced with a challenge in his career after an injury. While his future in basketball seems bleak, an invite to a speaking engagement may prove to be worthwhile for his career and love life, especially one that Katrice is slated to attend.

Emotions are high and all eyes on are the college sweethearts who are at a crossroad in their lives. While under pressure yet again, will Deon fold and deny his love for the only woman to have owned his heart, or will he fight for her love?

Telicia’s Review

Big girls winning 😍🤣

I’m currently a big girl, so I was really happy for Kit Kat at the end. The first half of this book was a bit hard to read. It was slow for me. I kept going because I’m a part of a podcast & this book was chosen for our monthly book. However, the ending though 😍 super cute. The title was perfect. The second half was amazing. It’s like I pictured myself being her, and she deserved all the energy she was receiving.

Renée’s Review

I gotta be all the way real with this one. The Second Half was too slow for my liking. It seemed to be filled with information that didn’t really move the story to me. There was no burn along with the slow but I pushed through because we presented this book for our book of the month.
*
After about 51%, the story picked up and I finally tried to get into it. The meeting of Katrice and Deon was dragging the whole book but in hindsight, it may have been intentional due to the title. They met during the second half of the book! Lol. Clever if intentional. Either way, when they met, we finally got what we’d been waiting on.
*
The build-up for the BIG THING that happened with Katrice and Deon in the past was a bit underwhelming. I don’t know what I expected but it wasn’t something as trivial as their problem. It was bad but I assumed there’d be more to it.
*
Katrice was my kind of girl. Thick, ambitious, gorgeous, and happy in her skin, for the most part. She had a sense of style, and her presence was felt. She had her insecurities behind the scenes, which made her real. Her cyberstalking Deon was also realistic and hilarious since she claimed to hate him so much.
*
Deon was living an artificial, on-the-surface life. He was with a woman he knew he wasn’t a match with. He sort of let things fall wherever and accepted it. His passions were for the game and his continued infatuation with Katrice, even from a distant memory. I will say that his love for her was really out there. Once he figured he had a chance to fix things with her, he was all in. I liked that.
*
Deon was in a six-year relationship and wasn’t the least bit heartbroken when he learned his girl was trash, just plotting to make him what she wanted him to be in exchange for a future together. AND she was cheating with his
archnemesis! That conveniently gave him a clean break.
*
Katrice and Deon’s love pretty much started where it stopped 14 years ago. It was fast. She forgave him too quickly after he explained why he was embarrassed by her size in front of his then and now best friend, Antwan. Nothing can really get in the way when it’s meant to be. Not even 14 years of resentment.
*
Hunter was possibly my favorite because she spoke her mind and stood up for her bestie in any situation. She was also real with her, which Katrice needed.
*
I enjoyed the book at the end. Getting there was frustrating. Deon got his girl in the end and let the ENTIRE world know that he was not ashamed of his plus-sized beauty. Katrice deserved that and so much more. I have no doubts Deon will give her the world.
