Review: Getting Schooled by Christina C. Jones

Renée’s Review

Another great read by Christina C. Jones. Book one of the Wright Brothers series is a nice introduction to this family. I started backward and read a later one first. So, it was cool seeing how it all started with Jason and Reese.

The thing I love most about Reese & Jason was their chemistry from the jump. The back and forth had me laughing because I could see it. I have a smart mouth so it was real for me.

Both are non-traditional students in college which simply means they’re older than the average student. It also means that they have a little more life experience under their belt and don’t get caught up in the typical college life. Instead, they have a more narrow focus on why they’re there.

Jason is a veteran and Reese took some time off. Both had time to go through some things before coming together and it makes the story relatable because they have somewhat of emotional baggage on top of trying to be good students. Being older, they have real goals and know what they want.

This story has so much packed in it. There’s a little messiness, some serious issues of PTSD, loss, and most of all love. Who doesn’t love a good love story?

Everything fell into place perfectly. Reese and her fool of a boyfriend got on my nerves. I wanted him gone the first time she interacted with Jason lol.
These two had a lot in common but still almost opposites in other areas. Good relationships always work like that.

It’s interesting to find out why people are the way they are. I love how little bits and pieces are given throughout the book with Reese’s anxiety with car wrecks because the reason behind it really hits hard.

The family members from parents to siblings to besties, I loved them all and their relationships with each other. I look forward to finding out what’s going on with the remaining Wright brothers.

Really Like It!
