Bridgette’s Review

When they say don’t judge a book by its cover, believe them. I thought I Knew the ending from the beginning but NOT. Getting Even was so much more. It was in depth, it hit home, and was very much felt.

Joy did somethings I would have never done. Sometimes in a relationship you want to get back at your spouse for doing the unthinkable but is it really worth it?  When I tell you this triangle was all over the dog on place!!!! Honey.

Telicia’s Review

This book brought out so many emotions for me. It also showed me how much I am team woman. I felt like Joy did no wrong. 🤷🏾‍♀️ She is my favorite character, I was rooting for her the entire way!

I feel a lil bad for white chocolate but she was still married so it’s his fault 🤦🏾‍♀️ & then I was happy each time Rashad got hurt because he shouldn’t did what he did 😒.

S/O to Rashad parents though they so real! I’m proud of how much of a super mom Joy is for always putting her daughters first. Her happiness made me happy from her going to therapy and getting better with her depression & finally getting everything she wanted at the end w/ her art studio 🥰

Renée’s Review

At some point and time as a reader or author, you get tired of the cheating in marriages. However, the way Danesha Little explored the raw, vulnerable emotions of Joy and Rashad made it so worth it. I mean, this couple had some huge blows by their own hands.

I loved how different their reactions were to almost the same mistake. The finger-pointing, comparing the wrongs, etc. really showed how human they were.

I truly enjoyed Joy. Even when she was as confused as I don’t know what, I related to that because when bad things happen in marriage, you are really all over the place. I felt her character the most.

Rashad got on my nerves with the double standards. On the other side of that, he was genuinely as hurt and confused as Joy. I didn’t like him for a lot of the story, but his character was also very real.

Philip was someone I actually rooted for. I don’t know why but I wanted him to get something out of all this.

The married couple’s family and friends were really the driving force for never allowing these two to forget the love they shared. Joy and Rashad did a lot to downplay it but couldn’t deny its existence and pull on their hearts.

Getting Even is seriously a book that I’d advise anyone dealing with infidelity in their marriage. It really showed both side of the situation and had a lot of good nuggets to help couples see their lives in these characters. It opened my eyes to my own relationship when it comes to fighting for love.
