Telicia’s Review
This book is really a movie, and Violet is the star. That little girl lost her mother at birth. Which is super sad, but her mother bestfriend Eliana stepped up and really loved her as her own. Eliana soon after adopting Violet, lost her husband. So Violet was raised by a single mom. No one around her shared her DNA, which is probably why she went searching for her dad. Even though she went looking for her dad, it didn’t take away all the love she was surrounded by, including Eliana in laws. I loved how everyone adored her. Then the fact that Violet is a genius.  A MOVIE!!! That girl hacked a university and found her dad Malachi. Malachi loved his daughter basically at first sight, and I love that for her. His finance at the time was the only person that didn’t love Violet which wasn’t even about Violet, that woman was fighting demons of her own. Although I personally wouldn’t be with any man that’s been with my family or friends, I enjoyed Eliana & Malachi relationship. The story was really good. 😆

Renée’s Review

The first thing I will say is that Viloet needed to get popped. 😂That little girl!
I enjoyed this story. The connections were unexpected but so good. Eliana was a great mom under unique circumstances and so much heartbreak. Her prayer to have a child was answered, but not the way she expected. Her village was one of my favorite parts of this story. She and Violet had so much support from her family and her in-laws.
Malachi mostly made all the right choices, no matter the consequences. I loved how quickly he jumped into his long-awaited role as a father. No one could tell him otherwise (even before DNA results). The love story behind all the secrets and mess was hopeful. Things just fall into place sometimes.
Now, I didn’t see that ending coming AT ALL. We all underestimated Ziva. Whew, chile! I hated how things ended up for her and her son, but in life these are realities. I’m glad Kimberly Brown shed light on this specific mental health issue. When a “villain” story makes you wish they had a better chance in life, the author did their thing. She could’ve made better decisions, but her mental didn’t allow her to see things any other way.
