March’s Book of the Month: Protostar Love by Sheopatra Smith

Below is Episode 26, and it’s full of spoilers. If you haven’t read Protostar Love, skip down to our reviews.

Nia Badi is THAT girl! Except…

…she doesn’t feel like it lately. On the night before her 21st birthday, this award winning music video director, thriving entrepreneur, and girlfriend to one of most influential rappers of her generation, feels anything but celebratory. Indeed she’s fortunate to live at the intersections of love and luxury. However, the ramifications of a jarring event have Nia questioning if she’s truly happy with where she is in both her career, and her “couple-goals” relationship.

As she ventures down this new path, will her relationship survive her 21st Birthday?

At just 25, Boyden “Bizzy Boy” Miller is living every rap mogul’s dream. Money, stardom, and astronomical success. With chart dominating influence, and a sold-out iconic world tour, what more could he want? Simple: his Nia. During his longest tour of their relationship, she’s been nothing but encouraging, yet he can feel her getting antsy. But when an unorthodox demon from his past rears its toxic head, jeopardizing both his mental health, and cosmic connection to the love of his life, Boyden is forced to reassess his plans.

Will Boyden confront his past in order to be the man he needs for both himself and his Nia?

Telicia’s Review

4 stars!🤔 The story is really 5 stars. I loved all the characters, well I hated one lol. Which is great, this story felt so real. The only reason I rated this four stars is because I had a rough time at the beginning of the story. It was needed info but wasn’t interesting. However, I’m so glad I pushed through because I LOVED the story. I highly recommend reading this story!

Bridgette’s Review

I really enjoyed this story. I loved how it showed “we” can have money, be glamorous, and have the finer things in life. Nia and Boyden’s journey was very uplifting. I hate to say it but on the sly, I was waiting for the ball to drop…so glad it never did 🙃

Renée’s Review

Okay, I’m gonna lie. At first, I was so confused but I kept going until everything made sense. That’s not to say that this story wasn’t great because it definitely was. However, I was a bit thrown off by the style until maybe forty percent in. It was a bit awkward only because I didn’t expect the style.

Now that that’s out the way, I loooovvvveeeee Boyden! Nia was amazing too. Sheopatra created a cosmic love with connections beyond most love stories.

We are primed to believe that somebody is gonna do something horrible to ruin a good or decent relationship so a perfect hero can swoop in and save the perception of love. Oh, but these two already had a love that could endure anything. We just didn’t know how deep until we got all of it.

I related deeply to the issues Boyden had with his mother. A little too close to reality actually. I gravitated more toward him because of his childhood. But that’s not to say that Nia wasn’t a beast all on her own.

These two together make me happy and will probably keep our universe intact lol. They belong together that much. I absolutely recommend reading Protostar Love.
