Review: The Prodigy 2 (Family Ties Book 2) by Shae Sanders

Synopsis:

The Windermeres are in shambles, and Jakari is doing everything he can to keep it all from unraveling. His biggest concern? Malika. He’s carrying a secret that could destroy the life he’s building with her.

Malika’s thriving, or so she believes, but there’s someone out there who has it out for her. As she slips further and further into her role in the Windermere family, she doesn’t realize how much power she has…or how much danger she’s in.

Can their relationship survive when the secrets come to light?

***This is book 2 of the Family Ties series. You should read book 1 first. This book does not end on a cliffhanger, but the story will continue…

Bridgette’s Review

Jakari and Malika relationship is so weird to me. How yall still together after that beginning? I don’t know how Mal is so comfortable being in this after knowing the part Kari’s mother and father played in her family’s demise. And I know Gab got more to uncover…SMH

The Rise of A Queen Indeed

If The Prodigy (book 1) didn’t stress me out enough, this one tried to take me out. The waiting for the bomb to drop was insane. Then I was all over the place. Like, how was Jakari going to tell Malika? How was she going to react? Will this be the end of their promising relationship?

Me! I woulda been out. It would have taken a lot of Jesus for me to forgive that family, but Malika grieved and moved on. She did better than I would have. It shows how much she truly loved Jakari cuz ain’t no way.

I loved seeing more of the person she was growing up and who she turned out to be. Dionne gave her sister the business, and I loved it. Malika had to realize that everything happened so fast and seemed completely crazy.

Malika’s dad, though. He can stay in Florida forever. Don’t care about him one bit. There were behind the scene deals and relationships that I didn’t see coming. Shae came with the “put you at the edge of your seat” vibes.

Malika came out of her shell a lot more in this book. She stepped into her spot as her husband’s right hand. She had his back and knew he had hers. Now, Gab is going to be a problem, but I actually think she underestimates Malika. Malika came in seeming weak but she has the mind and the heart for the family business. Jakari sees her as the queen, therefore, that’s her role. Doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

The Family Ties series needs to be on TV screens. I want to see this movie, show, whatever.

Eris and Jaz showed up more in this book. I like them. Jaz is gonna show out when it’s her turn. I just know it. Eris seems a bit more mature than I took him as in book one. I want to see more of them which is why I’mma keep on reading. Lol.
