Review: The Player (Family Ties Book 4) by Shae Sanders

Synopsis:

Naymar Windermere is in a bind.

He’s got another baby on the way, and it’s bad on every level. The head of the family is headed to prison, a rival crew is moving against them, and the mother is someone the whole family despises. It’s the worst possible scenario, which is par for the course for the family screwup.

Kittora Wilkins has problems of her own. She’s newly pregnant, and by the wrong Windermere brother. Even worse, her past is coming back to haunt her.

Can two people make their messy lives work?

Telicia’s Review

I’m not going to lie. I didn’t like Kittora at all since book 1. However, if my girl Malika can forgive her, I guess I can too. I’m also happy she got her happily ever after.

Bridgette’s Review

Didn’t we get some surprises in here! I really don’t care for Kittora. All she wanted was for somebody to take care of her…smh. And I told yall Gab had something she needed to get out, crazy butt. I’m not sure how long this relationship gonna last, but let’s see…

Renée’s Review

Man, how the hell this happened? Lol.

Of all the people Naymar could knock up, he chose Kittora. Granted, it was a club quickie on a liquor-induced night. Still!

I felt bad for Nay. He had a reputation that he just couldn’t get away from. Plus, he still contributed to that same narrative. In many ways, dude was hella irresponsible. Yeah, he took care of his kids but like are we going for Nick Cannon status?

This was a love story that I did not expect in this series. Nay seemed like the “can’t no woman lock me down” type, but he met his match. Unexpectedly and unfortunately, at first.

The uncertainties floating around for Nay and Kittora were intriguing. They didn’t trust each other even though they were in this situation. Kittora’s past caught up with her, and her life was at stake. Nay knocked up his little brother’s old jumpoff. Like, how Sway?

In the end, they both solved a problem for the other. I was here for it.

Love will sneak up on you. When Nay tried to make the best of the situation and be mature about it, he kind of set up a life he never knew he wanted. A woman, mother of his child, waiting at home for him every night. I kind of loved that for them. Rocky start for all involved but it played out well. The way these men are adding on to the family in such a short time is insane. What a year for the Windermeres.

Malika and Jakari’s situation was a tough one. Malika and Kittora’s friendship was something that needed to happen for this dynamic to work. I was glad they squashed their beef and handled some family business on their own.

I AM SO SICK OF GAB! Oh, my goodness. Somebody needs to take her out. I don’t care what you been through. You ain’t gotta treat people like that. When Dionne put hands on her, you couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.

Now, that’s gonna be a story. Eris, the baby brother, The Prince, is eyeing Malika’s little sister. And Dionne hates the Windermeres with a passion. I’m excited to see if anything happens there in the next book.

Does anybody else want the details of what happened to Noni and Gray Hightower? I mean, Kittora and Malika handled it but what happened? Plus, Brett must be next. I will never forget Jakari’s reaction in book one.

Now, we gotta wait for The Prince (Family Ties Book 5). Can’t wait!
