Review: Block Shot by Kennedy Ryan
Telicia’s Review (Short) After meeting August in Long Shot I didn’t think his brother could be any better. I WAS WRONG! Jared. Jared. Jared. That man there. He wasn’t this super good guy that was nice to everyone, he was just nice to her and oh how I wanted to be her the entire book. Granted Banner is this super smart, biggest heart amazing woman that I’m just like, nope I can’t compare. I was legit jealous the entire time đ€Ł. Opposite attract and I guess they belong together đ€Ł A beautiful story. đ„° To see what Telicia is talking about, check out Block Shot for yourself here: https://amzn.to/2opgW9l
Review: Getting Schooled by Christina C. Jones
RenĂ©e’s Review Another great read by Christina C. Jones. Book one of the Wright Brothers series is a nice introduction to this family. I started backward and read a later one first. So, it was cool seeing how it all started with Jason and Reese. The thing I love most about Reese & Jason was their chemistry from the jump. The back and forth had me laughing because I could see it. I have a smart mouth so it was real for me. Both are non-traditional students in college which simply means they’re older than the average student. It also means that they have a little more life experience…
Review: Let Me Free You by Alexandria House
Bridgette’s Review (Short) This is book four of the McClain Brothers series. I was so wrong about how I thought this story would go lol. Neil and his significant other seemed to be the right fit for one another. They both were at desperate times in their lives and needed what the other possessed to start their new journey. The McClain family knows how to come together in a crisis! A great end to a Great series! Telicia’s Review Neil McClain had me like “Big South who” I loved all the McClain men after getting to hear their story but nobody topped Big South until Neil. I was intrigued by…
Review: Let Me Show You by Alexandria House
Bridgette’s review (short with SPOILERS): Whew! Book three in the McClain Brothers series. It sure didn’t take long for Nolan and Bridgette to get together. Is he trying to keep up with them brothers or what? Nolan Nolan Nolan is a whole fool đđđ After the first time him and Bridgette had sex and Nolan called Everett..lol. I could not stop laughing (tweep, tweep) I was thinking that one of these McClain brothers have to have the short end of the stick đŻ they all seem to be BLESSED honey But I did love how Bridgette was a girl from around the way, so down to earth. Loving my…
Review: Let Me Hold You by Alexandria House
Bridgette’s Review The McClain brothers are doing the most! I think this is the fastest I have read a 2 book series, I know there are 2 more đ. I usually like to spend quality time with my new family but since it was mostly the same characters I didn’t see the harm or disloyalty in continuing. Leland has won my heart †It wasn’t his good looks that sold him but his actions. When he says he wants, loves, and cares for you he means it and definitely knows how to show it. He let nothing and no one stand in his way from loving and caring for…
Review: Rhyme & Reason by Nia Forrester
Rhyme & Reason follows Christopher “Deuce” Scaife Jr. and Zora Diallo after graduation from Penn State. My first introduction of the two were from Nia Forrester’s Snowflake. It was nice to see their relationship at the forefront. And to get a glimpse of what happened with the main characters from Snowflake too. ( I really loved that book!) This story was serious. I say that because the issues these young adults deal with are ones that people with many years under their belt would struggle with too. Zora wanted to do the right thing when it came to her culture or religion being a Muslim. She made decisions with…
Review: I’ll Be Good to You by Chelsea Maria
Yazlyn is a woman with a good head on her shoulders and knows what she wants in life and love. In her six-year relationship with Marshawn, settling was not going to cut it. Even with the perfect guy that checks all Yazlyn’s boxes, he didn’t want marriage. Being a wife wasn’t something she was willing to compromise. It was a tough but necessary decision to split from a great guy to find the right one. Yazlyn wanted to be a wife and all that it stood for. Kaalan was a hot head with a foul mouth and a love for bedding women. But after a year hiatus in Jamaica,…
Review: If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin
If Beale Street Could Talk is my first James Baldwin book. The movie inspired me to finally get it. Over the years, I’ve so many great things about the amazing James Baldwin, but never picked up his work. The story was very true to its time which is heartbreaking in a sense. And honestly a lot of what happened in the setting’s era still occurs today. Injustice for our young black men. Alfonzo (Fonny) and Clementine’s (Tish) love story was a beautiful one. They were two young people who loved each other without ever saying until it almost hit them that love was the feeling between them, if that…
Review: Tale of Two Cities: A Christmas Novella by Alexandra Warren
A story that gave you just what you wanted! I always love it when we as readers get to know characters what think about each other, but we painfully watch them fight against being honest about it. This one was one those stories where two people were attracted to one another but said nothing directly. There were some embarrassing outbursts for sure. However, the characters played a little hard to get or read. I loved how the author built up the suspense so to speak. You never know if people will go after what they want to cower in fear of rejection. Either of those things could happen and…
Review: Christmas with the Wrights by Christina C. Jones
Unfortunately, this was my first Christina C. Jones book. I only say that because these characters are a part of a series. Now I know things from this Christmas story that I wish I didnât. It wonât completely spoil the stories from the Wright Brothers series. And it most definitely wonât stop me from reading them. However, if you donât like even the smallest of spoilers, read the series first. With that out of the way, this was a great short read. Even though I had not met these characters prior to this story, bits and pieces were given to avoid losing the reader. The author did a great…
