Review: Let Me Hold You by Alexandria House
Bridgette’s Review The McClain brothers are doing the most! I think this is the fastest I have read a 2 book series, I know there are 2 more đ. I usually like to spend quality time with my new family but since it was mostly the same characters I didn’t see the harm or disloyalty in continuing. Leland has won my heart †It wasn’t his good looks that sold him but his actions. When he says he wants, loves, and cares for you he means it and definitely knows how to show it. He let nothing and no one stand in his way from loving and caring for…
May’s Book of the Month
Review: I Think I Might Love You by Christina C. Jones Episode 5 below. Contains Spoilers if you haven’t read this book. Continue to the review for what we thought of I Think I Might Love You. Jaclyn Love is a magnet for trouble – it seems to follow her wherever she goes. Unfortunately for Kadan Davenport, she also seems to be a magnet for him – even after a disastrous first impression that leaves him – literally – black and blue. Jaclyn is busy trying to find some sort of balance, and Kadan is just trying not to get swept up in the chaos. In a small city…
Review: Rhyme & Reason by Nia Forrester
Rhyme & Reason follows Christopher “Deuce” Scaife Jr. and Zora Diallo after graduation from Penn State. My first introduction of the two were from Nia Forrester’s Snowflake. It was nice to see their relationship at the forefront. And to get a glimpse of what happened with the main characters from Snowflake too. ( I really loved that book!) This story was serious. I say that because the issues these young adults deal with are ones that people with many years under their belt would struggle with too. Zora wanted to do the right thing when it came to her culture or religion being a Muslim. She made decisions with…
Review: I’ll Be Good to You by Chelsea Maria
Yazlyn is a woman with a good head on her shoulders and knows what she wants in life and love. In her six-year relationship with Marshawn, settling was not going to cut it. Even with the perfect guy that checks all Yazlyn’s boxes, he didn’t want marriage. Being a wife wasn’t something she was willing to compromise. It was a tough but necessary decision to split from a great guy to find the right one. Yazlyn wanted to be a wife and all that it stood for. Kaalan was a hot head with a foul mouth and a love for bedding women. But after a year hiatus in Jamaica,…
April’s Book of the Month
Review: He Who Is A Lover by Love Belvin He Who Is a Lover Falling in love wasnât the goal. In fact, I didnât think it was possible. That was until Bilan Asad-Yasin turned out to be more than I anticipated when I finally decided to explore her that early spring evening. Those curvy thighs, chiseled cheekbones, auburn freckles, powerful resilience, and endless intellect. She was a bad decision, this I knew. Sheâd be a great risk, this I understood. I was an Ellis man, sheâd eventually learn. And she did. Thatâs when she ran, attempted to escape a world sheâd soon have to learn to navigate and survive. …

Review: If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin
If Beale Street Could Talk is my first James Baldwin book. The movie inspired me to finally get it. Over the years, I’ve so many great things about the amazing James Baldwin, but never picked up his work. The story was very true to its time which is heartbreaking in a sense. And honestly a lot of what happened in the setting’s era still occurs today. Injustice for our young black men. Alfonzo (Fonny) and Clementine’s (Tish) love story was a beautiful one. They were two young people who loved each other without ever saying until it almost hit them that love was the feeling between them, if that…
Review: Tale of Two Cities: A Christmas Novella by Alexandra Warren
A story that gave you just what you wanted! I always love it when we as readers get to know characters what think about each other, but we painfully watch them fight against being honest about it. This one was one those stories where two people were attracted to one another but said nothing directly. There were some embarrassing outbursts for sure. However, the characters played a little hard to get or read. I loved how the author built up the suspense so to speak. You never know if people will go after what they want to cower in fear of rejection. Either of those things could happen and…
Review: Christmas with the Wrights by Christina C. Jones
Unfortunately, this was my first Christina C. Jones book. I only say that because these characters are a part of a series. Now I know things from this Christmas story that I wish I didnât. It wonât completely spoil the stories from the Wright Brothers series. And it most definitely wonât stop me from reading them. However, if you donât like even the smallest of spoilers, read the series first. With that out of the way, this was a great short read. Even though I had not met these characters prior to this story, bits and pieces were given to avoid losing the reader. The author did a great…
