Review: Christmas with the Wrights by Christina C. Jones

    February 4, 2019 /

Unfortunately, this was my first Christina C. Jones book. I only say that because these characters are a part of a series. Now I know things from this Christmas story that I wish I didn’t. It won’t completely spoil the stories from the Wright Brothers series. And it most definitely won’t stop me from reading them. However, if you don’t like even the smallest of spoilers, read the series first. With that out of the way, this was a great short read. Even though I had not met these characters prior to this story, bits and pieces were given to avoid losing the reader. The author did a great…

Review: Snowflake by Nia Forrester If you haven’t read Snowflake, then just read our review. The episode below does contain SPOILERS. Running away from his feelings is the one race he’ll never win … A star athlete and Olympic prospect, Kal Carter is bound for greatness. Everyone says it, only he’s not sure he entirely believes it. Because he’s lost something he can’t replace, and most days feels like he’s holding up the sky; and doing it all on his own.  To maintain focus, he never lets anyone close except in the most superficial ways and he’s become very good at it. Until a long, cold week when the…

    My Favorite Books So Far

    February 4, 2019 /

I haven’t read many things outside of Romance except for The Help and Laws of Attraction and a few Myles Munroe books. So, my favorite genre of fiction is definitely Romance. I have a thing for reading books with primarily African American characters because I can relate more to them. Everything I’ve read (that I remember) is on my Goodreads page and Pinterest, but these by far are the ones that I really love. Wonder by Christina C. Jones Spoilers all up and through this podcast. So, if you haven’t read the book, don’t listen lol. Read our reviews below for some context (those are safe;)) For excerpts, click here. It all came down to me. The one who followed the rules, never went looking for trouble – I kept to myself. I just wanted to take care of my family. To not constantly look over my shoulder, worried about the things that went bump in the night. I just wanted to survive. But that wasn’t meant to be. As luck – or fate, or something – would have it, the trouble found…

He Who Is A Friend by Love Belvin Spoilers all up and through this podcast. So, if you haven’t read the book, don’t listen lol. Tech issues caused some glitching as well. It shouldn’t be too bad. Enjoy! For review discussion excerpts, click here. Sadik Ellis blew into my rather insipid world at breakneck speed and with gripping force. He held all the features: striking feline eyes, golden russet skin, incredible sex appeal, wealth exuding like the enticing scent of cologne, and mind-blowing determination. He was also trouble from the other side of the tracks, something I’d sensed. Sadik was an Ellis man with a solid education, his own…
